Portofino is a beautiful place. A holiday destination for the rich and famous, and all of the associated glamour that surrounds it. This type of place is often expensive, but if you travel just a few km down the road, you come to the town of Santa Margherita Ligure. This is where Portofino Divers is based, and is a beautiful town in it’s own right. It has a great mixture of restaurants, the marina, fantastic views to the local hills and a very good climate.
Just offshore is the marine park, a zone that is protected from fishing, and has become the host to a wide variety of marine life – unusual when compared to the rest of the Mediterranean. The area is also home to many shipwrecks, some less than ten minutes boat trip from the harbour.
Portofino Divers is run by Bruno Borelli – a native of Santa Margherita, a GUE instructor trainer and Technical instructor. Nobody knows the region as well as Bruno, and he has a wealth of knowledge on the dive sites and weather conditions so you are sure to be put onto the best dive sites.
The boat is in pristine condition. There is plenty of space for all of your dive gear, it’s a comfortable ride in any of the sea conditions you’re likely to dive in, and the crew work hard to make sure your entry and exit is as easy as possible.
After your dives, you can take a walk into town, where there are many pizzerias, restaurants and bars all with excellent food and atmosphere. Bruno also has accommodation available at the dive centre, providing excellent value and convenience for you.
